The Army Museum, Sunday May 7, 2006
Sweden was neutral during the war but put great resources in her military build up during the conflict.
On Sunday May 7, the date of the armistice in Europe - a diminutive military
show was held in front of the Army Museum. The base camp was displaying a
variety of period equipment.
A WW II event at the Army Museum in Stockholm
In dazzling sunshine, the visitors to the Army Museum could enjoy "ersatz" coffee,
watch a 1937 tankette and marvel at the skill of the crew of the double
bicycle stretcher. There were also special WW II events inside the museum.
Summing up, the day was a success; the weather was beautiful,
the visitors extremely well behaved and the tankette ran like a Swiss watch.
And of course, "ersatz" coffee is always a special experience!

Did you miss this event? As a consolation, it was successful enough to
almost certainly be repeated!

The star of the show our quite diminutive tank m/37 - in splendid running condition.

Another running "vehicle" was the double bicycle stretcher carrying unit with a brave soldier aboard.
