Photos taken during the construction of the Museum Hall

On this page we will save photos taken during the construction time. In the time of writing (March 2010) things have happened mostly on details of the exterior, but now the interior work has started for real...

Due to the exceptionally hard frost this year, progress will slow down a bit until the ground inside the building has thawed out!

We start off with a photo from the ceremonial ground breaking (right) in August 2009.

During September we worked hard - together with staff from the Swedish Armed Forces - to move the SFHM collection from Axvall to Strangnas. You can view those photos here.

The construction enters a new phase

Now that the ground frost has finally released its hold inside the new building, works can start again for real.
Progress now is mainly indoors, and at time of writing (May-June) installation of air vents, electrical power, water, sewage and alarms are under way.

As can be seen below some high lifting equipment is needed for e.g. installation of lighting etc.
