1940's Military Camp in Krylbo
The re-enactment soldiers were on this day encamped some distance
outside the real festival area - mainly because the possibility to
erect tents is central to their activities...
We could still savour some historic moments, like the steam locomotive
1136 which had come from Nynashamn (south east of Stockholm).
(here
some more nice pictures for those who cannot get enough of vintage rail.)

The visitors had the added pleasure of going by railcar to the site, and
quite a number of them took the chance. A few of them enjoyed the
re-enactment of a 1940's type manoeuvre that was carried out during the
afternoon.

"The Krylbo Explosion", occurred in 1941 when a German munitions train
exploded in Krylbo, was staged towards the end of the event, boasting
a plentitude of pyrotechnical effects.
Those of us who were there would like to sum the day as very successful,
and we think that this view is shared by the spectators. Even though we
had heavy rainfall at a couple of occasions, no grumpy faces could be
seen anywhere.

We will be too old to celebrate the 200 year anniversary of Swedish Rail,
but we comfort ourselves with the fact that we were there this time!
Some more pictures from this event can be found
here (although the text is in Swedish).
